Our Services

TummyTime! Method
A scientific evidence-based program developed to uniquely address the needs of babies, newborns to pre-crawling optimizes baby’s neurodevelopment, connection, and wellbeing.

Pediatric Feeding Therapy
The Nurturing Nest Collective is the premiere private pediatric feeding program in the Owensboro area with an outpatient feeding clinic to diagnose and treat difficulties related to breastfeeding, bottle feeding, transitions to solid foods or texture variety, and expanding diets of picky eaters.

Lactation Support
We understand the difficulties of learning how to breastfeed an infant, especially if there are additional complications in place (such as a tongue or tissue tie!). Regardless of the circumstances, breastfeeding can be a challenge for both the baby and the mother. We are honored to be able to provide valuable lactation support for mothers and babies. We have a passion for helping moms and babies to THRIVE, not just survive. We look forward to hearing each family’s feeding and relationship goals and helping to achieve them.

Occupational Therapy
Pediatric occupational therapy utilizes specific activities to increase the independence of a child who is limited by sensory perception/processing, fine motor weaknesses, neurological or cognitive impairment, or a developmental or learning disability.

Tethered Oral Tissues
Evaluation completed by a feeding therapist with specific training in the signs and symptoms associated with tongue/lip/cheek ties as well as the orofacial complex structure and function with a focus on oral phase feeding and swallowing is a crucial piece of the pre- and post-frenectomy care team. Our therapists provide support for guiding oral and facial structural development, oral movement patterns, and transition to optimal functional patterns for oral rest posture, breathing, breastfeeding, chewing, swallowing, and speech sound production as related to new range of motion and muscle patterns following a frenectomy. To support optimal function post-frenectomy, a program of pre-habilitation to gain increased movement and control of oral muscle movement patterns is recommended which flows into post-operative habilitation activities focused on the development of correct function of the orofacial complex that can be maintained over the lifetime.
